Prof. Rewe Thomas is currently The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs and Research at the Great Lakes University of Kisumu. Also an Associate Professor at Pwani University of Animal Breeding and Genetics and a Member of The National Scientific and Ethics Committee of NACOSTI, Kenya.  Prof. Rewe Chaired the Ethics Review Committee at Pwani University for 12 years. The academic progression began at Egerton University Njoro, Kenya, where he obtained both his Bachelors and Masters degrees, he later joined the prestigious agricultural university of Hohenheim in Stuttgart Germany and obtained his Doctorate degree (PhD). The work experiences include post-doctoral work at the Swedish Agricultural University (SLU), and as an International Consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations. Prof. Rewe has over 9 years of experience in Managing Ethics in Research and has been in the university system for over 16 years. Included in his path are the experiences of heading the department of Animal Sciences, membership of post-graduate committee, board member of quality assurance and research working groups. Prof. Rewe is a Principal Investigator and co-investigator in several Multidisciplinary projects collaborating both locally and internationally. Some of his passions include, renewable energy especially Biogas technologies, mentorship of young people both academically and spiritually. As a devoted Christian he is involved in community outreach as a Church minister, serving as a Bishop in the King’s Outreach Church, under the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness in Malindi Parish.
